These aren’t your grandmother’s flowers

We say these aren’t your grandmother’s flowers, but some of our peonies have been passed down for generations. We take the stress out of your wedding and event planning by creating unique designs to celebrate your love. These aren’t just flowers - this is living art!

Our Story

I’ve always said that with flowers I get to live a double life - by day I’m leveraging my MBA and managing high-stress and high-stakes technology strategy, but by night I’m planting seeds and creating living works of art. Over the years I’ve found that my creativity makes me better at my day job, and my organization, problem solving, and customer engagement skills really help me serve my design clients.

Beholden Blooms started as a calling to create and design beautiful things and beautiful spaces. I’ve always loved arranging flowers, and had always wanted a cutting garden so I could have fresh flowers on my kitchen counter every single day. Let me help you make your wedding or event a sight to behold!

Our Team

Hi, I’m Nicole Gilbride, owner and lead designer at Beholden Blooms. My love affair with flowers began in my childhood with daisy-chain flower crowns and has blossomed into magical tablescapes, breathtaking installations, and luxurious bridal bouquets.

When I’m not working a desk job or transforming spaces with flowers, you can find me traveling the world, exploring cultures and cuisines, and reading stories of history and adventure. I’m passionate about sourcing local Kentucky flowers, support other local farmers, and putting money back into our local economy.

Our business wouldn’t be possible without our key staff members:

  • My jack-of-all-trades husband, who does everything from tilling a rocky field for planting to engineering a walk-in cooler to keep your flowers fresh.

  • My amazing crew that helps with sourcing, processing, designing, delivering, installing, and striking each of your events.

  • My young floral apprentice, our three-year-old daughter Adeline who loves picking flowers just for me.

  • My two farm-paws (like a farm-hand, only furrier) Mason and Maxx, who protect the blooms from rabbits, chase away the deer, and occasionally trample my zinnias - and our two barn cats that keep our supply barn clear!

Our Field

When we bought our land in Woodford County, KY, we started with over 200 varieties of plants and some peony bushes that had been passed down and transplanted through generations. I remember my complete delight the first spring as every week I’d walk in the garden and find new treasures - that feeling of joy and wonderment is how I want you to feel on your big day.

After living on our two-acre property for a year, we decided it was time to make my floral design business official. Sustainability was important and we wanted to design with locally sourced materials as much as possible, which is where the flower field came in. The rest is history
